"Jaws" is a photo of a Florida alligator that I took at John B. Sargeant Park in Hillsborough County, Florida. When I was a young boy, we never worried about the alligators when we went swimming because we knew there probably weren't any larger than about four feet long. The trappers had harvested all the larger ones. Once a gator gets to be about the same size as you, it gets the idea that you might make lunch for him rather than the other way around. That's when they get dangerous. Today it's dangerous to swim where I once did.

This small gator crawled up on this log taking some of the duckweed that covered this canal in John B. Sargeant Park with him. As he gets older he will lose the striping on his tail.
