The picture of the "Common Gallinule #2" was taken in
Lake Iberá in  Esteros del Iberá in Corrientes Province,
Argentina. The most widely distributed member of the rail
family, the Common Moorhen inhabits marshes and ponds
from Canada to Chile, from northern Europe to southern
Africa, and across Asia to the Pacific.

I captured the image of these "Gallinules" swimming in the
marshy edge of Lake Iberá in the Esteros del Iberá in
Corrientes Province, Argentina. The marshy areas and  
lagoons or lakes within this rich ecosystems help make it
one of Argentina's  and the world's most important
biologically diverse regions. This huge system of wetlands
supports a great diversity of animal and plant species.
